For the proper growth of your baby, you cannot only rely on breastfeeding or formula milk. After a certain time, you are supposed to start with additional semi-solid or solid foods. This is a time when you introduce your baby with other foods through a process called food diversification. In my case, I started it with grain-based cereal – Cerelac to make sure that my baby is getting all the required nutrients. Through this article, I would like to review Cerelac Fortified Baby Cereal With Milk (Wheat).
What I liked about this product
Cerelac Fortified Baby Cereal With Milk (Wheat) is packed in a very attractive and schematic manner.
Earlier, I had used some formula milk, and I faced some problems with their packing like the placement of spoon and spillage while extracting the powder from the container. But, I faced no such trouble with this packing.
The second best thing about its packing is – detailed information. I found that all the required is pragmatically printed on the outer of the box.
Take nutrition plan for example; from what age one should start this cereal and which flavor should be given.
Taste wise, my baby liked it very much. As my baby was only on breastfeeding for first 6 months, I was a little worried about whether she is going to accept this new diet or not.
But, believe me, my baby has not only accepted it gladly but whenever I noticed a smile on her face, every time I offered this cereal to her. Based on her interest in this diet, I can say that she really likes it.
Before starting Cerelac Fortified Baby Cereal With Milk (Wheat), I collected a lot of information from other mothers. No wonder, they all had mixed experiences. Some said their baby had no trouble with it.
Whereas, a few told me about constipation, allergies, and rashes kinda problems. Some said, their babies had a tough time digesting it. And, some complained about an unpleasant smell in the poop.
But my experience was completely different. My baby indicated no such negative signs. There were no signs of digestion problems, constipation, rashes, or allergies. There was no change in her poop color and there no unpleasant smell in poop, either.
Very Easy To Make
- Before making a meal, wash your hands well.
- Take a glass of water in a pan and boil it for 5 minutes.
- After boiling, leave the water until lukewarm.
- When lukewarm, take 75 ml of water in a small bowl.
- Mix 3 spoons (which comes in packing) of the cereal in it.
- Do keep in mind, if you are not mixing it well, then you may experience lumps and the baby may have trouble eating it.
You can also mix boiled vegetables such as peas. It completely depends on your baby’s growth scales.

What I disliked about the product
Although I am really impressed with its packing, there is still a scope for improvement.
I think, a zip-lock bag, instead of the sachet, is a better option. Now, to prevent it from moisture, you need an additional container.
According to me, if your baby is completely dependent on cerelac, then may have to buy it several times a month. And, this makes it an expensive alternative. But, if you are mixing it with other food, a 300 grams packing can last for a longer duration.
Finally, I would like to say that my experience with Cerelac Fortified Baby Cereal With Milk (Wheat) is positive. After feeding my baby with cerelac, I noticed that her feeding intervals are pleasantly increased and now she sleeps comfortably.
Therefore, in my opinion, this product is of great quality at every criterion. I will not have any problems in buying it again. If you are also thinking about starting with this cereal, then I request that should consult your pediatrician before doing so.
